Sept. 11- A day of Catalan Pride

Graffitti is huge here, so on National Catalonia day, do as the catalans do and fuck up some mail boxes

I was sad not to have a cape

So, basically, Sept.11 in Catalonia is a day to remember the people who fought for the independence of Catalonia and lost, but so valiantly gave their lives to their national sense of identity. Today many Catalan people still want independence from Spain, in school their children learn Spanish as a second language and in some parts of Catalonia (not barcelona) you can't get a job if you don't speak Catalan.

The Magic fountains

Less than 10 minutes walking distance from my house is Parc Montjuic which sits on top of a mountain. At the entrance of the parc is the MNAC (museu nacional de arte catalan) there is a giant fountain and on the weekends they light it up and sych it to music. its pretty and lots of people go there, very disney esque.
